The electoral college is the system by which the president of the united states is elected. Each state is given a certain amount of electors, for example, Massachusetts has 11 electoral votes. The amount of votes depends on the population of the state, the larger the population, the more votes. The electoral voters vote based on how the citizens of that state voted. For example, if 63% of California voters vote democratic, the 55 electoral voters would vote for the democratic candidate. In the end, the candidate to have 270+ votes wins the election.
